Cataract Surgery on Over 400 Nationals at Keren Hospital

Cataract Surgery on Over 400 Nationals at Keren Hospital in cooperation with the Sudanese Ophthalmologists group.

Asmara, 19 May 2018 – As part of the ongoing endeavors to control blindness, eye surgery for Cataract has been conducted on more than 400 nationals  in cooperation with the Sudanese Ophthalmologists group.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Yafet Hailemichael, said that the surgery that was conducted in cooperation with Albeser Medical group was aimed at controlling and eradicating the prevalence of the disease.

Mr. Kahsai Seyum, Head of the Ophthalmology in the hospital, indicated that the surgery went successful because the patients received the treatment on time.

Similar eye surgery was conducted on 325 nationals at Girar Hospital in Massawa this month.
